Upsell funnel builder: order bumps, upsells and downsells
Most of a funnel's profit is made after the first "yes". Rev Funnels designs the back end of your funnel, prices every offer from your front-end price, writes the pages and shows how much each layer adds before you launch.

Five ready-made upsell ladders
| Ladder | What it offers | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Classic one-click stack | Order bump, upsell, downsell, premium upsell | Digital products and info products |
| Tripwire to core offer | Low-price front end, core program, payment-plan downsell | List builders and course creators |
| Physical product | Second unit, 3-pack bundle, 2-pack downsell, subscribe and save | Shops and product brands |
| Course or coaching | Workbook bump, group coaching, payment plan, 1:1 session | Coaches and educators |
| Ministry or nonprofit | Fee cover, monthly partner invitation, smaller monthly gift | Churches and nonprofits |
How it works
- Pick a ladder
Prices start from your front-end price using common rules of thumb. Rename offers, change prices or ask AI to design offers that fit your product.
- Insert it after checkout
The bump becomes a checkbox on your checkout page. Each upsell and downsell gets its own page, countdown and "No thanks" path.
- See what the back end adds
The tab compares revenue with the front end only, with bumps, and with the full ladder, plus average order value, using the same traffic as the simulator.
- Connect checkouts
One table holds every checkout link. A bump can have its own checkout link, and ticking the box switches the buy button to it.
Take rates are planning guesses, not promises. Replace them with your real numbers once orders arrive.
Questions
What is an order bump?
An order bump is a small add-on offered with a checkbox on the checkout page, such as a quick-start kit or a second unit. Buyers add it without leaving checkout, so it raises the average order value with little friction.
What is a one-click upsell?
A one-click upsell is an offer shown right after purchase that the buyer can accept without entering card details again. It needs a checkout that supports post-purchase offers, such as ThriveCart, SamCart, Shopify post-purchase apps, or Stripe with a saved payment method on your own server. With plain payment links, the buyer confirms the extra purchase in a second checkout.
What is a downsell?
A downsell is a lower-priced version of an upsell, shown only to people who said no to it, for example the toolkit at a smaller price or the same program in three payments.
How should I price upsells?
Common starting points are an order bump around 30 to 50 percent of the front-end price and a first upsell around two to three times it. Treat these as rules of thumb and adjust them once you have real take rates.
Are the take rates guaranteed?
No. Take rates in the Upsells tab are planning guesses that drive the revenue math. Replace them with your own numbers as orders come in.
